Thankful Thursday/Fatty Friday

Obviously this post is late. But again, I am blaming that pesky new thing called a job. (Hooray for paychecks!)

Anyway, tomorrow night I am going to the local carnival, called Novemberfest, and I am super excited about it. I have always loved fairs and carnivals.

Carnies, vomit-inducing rides, fatty fried everything, rides held together with duct tape and a paper clip equal my idea of a good time.

P-Funk so graciously invited me to go with her family and of course I accepted. The above mentioned items are a real joy to me. Plus, it's fun to embarrass P-Funk's teen-aged daughter. OH SNAP! When did I become the old lady friend who embarrasses other people's children???

Oh well.

Today I am thankful for carnivals and fairs, helping runners undue all their hard work since the invention of beaded necklaces.

What are you thankful for today?

AND

TGIF! Have a great weekend all. I got a 10 miler on deck and would like to report that my two-a-day on Wednesday went really well.

Haha, I remember getting stuck on the Zipper ride (just like that thing you have pictured, only much taller and it spun upside down) as a teenager. It was a while before I got on any carnival rides after that. Have fun!

I have 9 and haven't run over 5 in 2 weeks. EEEEK.

I am NOT a carnival person. I don't like the rides. I'm a chicken *bawk bawk*

And don't those jobs get in the way of all of the fun?

Carnival fun is, ummm, not good. Beware of cotton candy, hot dogs and roller coaster combo.

Elephant ears are delish!! (The deep fried goodness, not the animal appendage)

Um question... How exactly does P-Funk have a teenaged daughter? Did you mean sister? So confused.

I LOVE carnivals!! My fave rides are the ones that usually make other people puke. Not that I've ever had to experience that... thankfully. Huh. I guess that's what I'm thankdul for today... never having to experience someone puking on a pukeworthy ride. :)

Hmmm, I've been cranky lately, so thinking about what I'm thankful for would be good.

And, after a long week, I'm thankful for lazy weekends! And good time management skills.

I'm so glad your running is going well!

Have fun at the carnival! I've been struck lately by that "how in the hell did I get so old" feeling . . . didn't it seem like not that long ago that WE were the ones embarrassed by our parent's odd friends?

We will need a fried food report when the weekend is over. This summer I devoured funnel cakes, deep fried twinkies, a deep fried snickers, and a deep fried avocado. Looks like you have some catching up to do......

To "Morgan", yes I have a 15-yr old daughter and I will graciously take that as a compliment that I look young and NOT a reference that I'm a neglectful mother that keeps her child hidden in the closet that noone knows about (LOL!) :-D

Sadly, my daughter must have known in advance of her impending embarrassment, so she didnt' go. BUT, B.o.B. was the one embarrassed that night....by ME!!
